Description

Classic Danish boat building art * Newer engine * 3 Danish owners * Very well maintained Possibly Denmark's most beautiful Brdr. Jørgensen Sailboat Won 1st prize in 2016 in Svendborg - Danish Association for Vintage Pleasure Craft Same Danish owner since 2006 Carefully maintained and always stored indoors during winter Here is the opportunity to acquire a very beautiful example of a fully sailing ship from "Bygone times". A ship that in many ways is just as ready to sail today as she was when she left the shipyard 42 years ago. The name is "MALUSI" The most important thing first: The owner stands by the correct maintenance throughout the years. You will get the whole story when you meet the ship's captain. It naturally involves indoor storage, sanding, polishing, and many times varnishing, etc. Malusi is a small and easy-to-handle sailboat at just 8 meters in length. She is Bermuda rigged with a sail area of 25m2. At the same time, she has a size and space below deck that certainly also makes cruising possible. She was built at Brdr. Jørgensen's Ship and Boatyard in Lohals, as one of the last ships from there. The choice of materials is almost self-explanatory: "Larch on oak" with a very nice teak deck and mahogany paneling below deck and in the cockpit. The keel is made of iron with extra lead ballast at the bottom piece. The entire onboard atmosphere is original and gives a very solid maritime expression. Characterized by very good space both in the cockpit and below deck. Comfort was also found in 1982 when wooden ships were built in the right way! You smile when you are aboard "Malusi" and are pleased that craftsmanship like that was once carried out. Craftsmanship that "cannot be paid for today" if one were to build a new and similar ship. In addition, the ship is well-equipped and updated with a fine newer and modern 3-cylinder Yanmar diesel engine. It was installed in the ship in 2004 just before the current owner took over. The engine has been maintained since then. It is freshwater-cooled and with an hour meter showing 1,200 hours. Below the waterline, the entire bottom was "soda blasted" in 2020. It was then treated in accordance with regulations with primer and paint. The sails are older from before the current owner took over in 2006. They have been regularly maintained and serviced by North Sails and appear usable. All other items are neat and for the most part of recent date. The owner states that everything on board is fully functional and that the boat has never been damaged or undergone major repairs. Malusi has brought joy on many sailing trips in Denmark and the Swedish archipelago. In other words, she has led an active life. The owner is willing and able to tell her fine story. He does so during the viewing, in which he participates. Welcome aboard: Come and experience the ship and feel free to ask for details. We look forward to showing her off. She is completely ready for new trips with her future owners.
