Description

Colin Archer Ketch from 1972, with teak deck and many other fine wood types in the cockpit and below deck. It is a very solid and heavily rigged boat that can sail in all kinds of weather. The hull is 3-4 cm thick, with a long-keeled lead keel that makes it extremely stable on the water. It has a mainsail, mizzen, and 2 roller genoas, and the boat can sail with all 4 sails up at once. There are 2 berths in the bow with good mattresses, 2 berths in the cabin, and with a little effort, 2 berths in the aft cabin (we have used it for gear storage). There are 2 newer lazy bags (2021) and UV reinforcement sewn onto the large roller genoa. In addition to the sails, the boat is powered by a reliable and powerful 70 HP Volvo Penta diesel engine from 2000, which has only run 1450 hours. Two new 75 Ah Optima batteries were installed in 2023 for the bow thruster. Three years ago, the bottom was completely sanded down and coated with copper that should last for 10 years. Equipment includes a plotter, GPS, radar, VHF radio, echo sounder, log, autopilot, brass clock and barometer, and many other instruments. Radio/CD player, speakers, powerful bow thruster/engine, electric windlass, manual windlass, large anchor with very long and strong chain, 4 winches, gas stove with oven and 2 burners, Reflex diesel heater from 2021 with waterborne central heating, kitchen sink, toilet/sink, fire extinguishers, etc. There is a loose connection to the electric windlass and to the antenna for the chart plotter and VHF radio. The cockpit tent needs replacing, but overall, it is a very nice boat. Most of the pictures were taken before the deck joints were inspected and replaced where necessary, and after the deck was sanded and oiled. The benches and cockpit floor have also been sanded and varnished.
