Description

As one of two identical yachts, the LUCKY STAR ex CRISTINA was built alongside the ANITA by the Yachtwerft Johann de Dood in Bremen with the construction number 550 as a fast and seaworthy cruiser-racer with the striking lines of the IOR class of the 1970s for participation in the Admirals Cup in 1973. She was designed by the famous design office Sparkman & Stephens as Swan 42. The current owner has owned her for 30 years and has already invested € 350,000 in the preservation and modifications of this unique cultural asset. After extensive voyages to the Atlantic, Cape Verde and the Mediterranean, the owner spends the summer months on the yacht. She is being sold for reasons of age, because at some point the time will come and the realisation will come that it is time to part with her. We are looking for someone who appreciates the aesthetics and qualities and is willing and able to maintain this beauty. The hull of this special yacht is made of 3 x 9 mm mahogany on stringer glued diagonally/karweel and is varnished 8 times. The cockpit and deck are made of GRP. The deck is made of 20 mm marine plywood and is covered with 10 mm teak rods. The 19 m long mast with 2 salingsrigg, as well as the boom and spinnaker boom are made of carbon with a shiny black surface. Mast and rig are 5 years old. Over € 110,000 has been invested here.
