Description

Traditional Ewer barge, newly built with a focus on old craftsmanship. Simple interior with modern navigation equipment. Unique family ship! Traditional sailing ship built to resemble an 18th-century Hamburg Ewer, used for fishing on the Elbe. A unique and solidly built ship suitable for a museum harbor. The ship is equipped with a simple day room for day and multi-day trips for 14 people to experience old sailing. Approved for professional shipping but also ideal as a family ship. The 'Ronja' is a replica of a traditional sailing ship used for fishing on the Elbe in the 18th and 19th centuries. The shape of the ship dates back to the 11th century when settlers from the Netherlands sailed to Germany with such ship types; a deep knuckle span with a transom stern and a high rising bow. The ship was built by an association in-house over five years with a lot of craftsmanship and knowledge of wooden shipbuilding of the past. The goal was to experience how ships were built hundreds of years ago without blueprints but with a lot of craftsmanship, which were used for trade and fishing. At the same time, they were interested in how these ships were sailed back then, the seamanship of the past. The ship is for sale because the association is moving forward with a charter barge that offers more possibilities for more guests.
