The Finnish brand Terhi, celebrated for its innovative boat manufacturing, commenced its journey in 1972 under President Urho Kekkonen's guidance. Initially recognized for outboard engines, the brand shifted focus to boat production, highlighting quality and durability. In 1971, Korpivaara Oy, the company behind Terhi, set up the subsidiary Konemuovi Oy to mass-produce boats, and pioneered the use of ABS plastic. This robust and resistant material replaced fiberglass, leading to models like the Terhi 240, 310, and 390. These lightweight, durable boats rapidly gained international acclaim, reaching 11 countries and confirming Terhi as a leader in the boating industry.
