Sailing boat for sale
A Vollenhovense Bol is a traditional sailing ship, that was invented around 1900 in Vollenhove, at the headwaters of the Overijssel. In the flat coastal waters of the former Zuiderzee it was important to own a cost efficient, very seagoing ship. As the sea could be very rough even in that coastal areas. The first Vollenhovense Bol was built in 1902. A boat with a very flat bottom, a flat coachroof, but rounded sides and round bow. The round stern will keep you dry even in following sea with higher waves. The builder was ispired by Botters and Schokkers. The boat's big „belly“ offers a lot of room under deck. Because of that, because she is very seagoing and because she can easily sailed by a crew of two person, the Vollenhovense Bol is very popular for sailors and is since the 1960s built as a yacht and not anymore as a pure fihing boat. In addition the owner equipped this yacht and added helpful things in a way that she can even (maybe with some restrictions, but anyway) be sailed single-handed. Besides she's an absolut eyecather in every harbour. She is gaff cutter rigged and has main sail, butter jib and headsail. Butter jib means bigger than a normal working-jib. To reduce leeway when sailing with more than wind abeam, you simply lower the leeward wooden leeboards. Mast can be unsteped without external help. Sold directly by the owner.
