Description

Elegant custom-built (design by Georg Nissen) designed as a fast performance cruiser and built in 1991 at the renowned quality yacht yard Olsen Yachts Aps in Stubbekøbing, Denmark. The construction in GRP/sandwich laminate with solid laminate in stressed areas, composite frames, and laminated bulkheads as well as a GRP strongback allowed for a relatively light but very stable structure. The lead bulb keel bolted under with a wide flange ensures high stability and particularly good upwind properties, while the flat underwater hull towards the stern provides excellent downwind characteristics. The bright, functional interior showcases the yard's great craftsmanship in woodworking. For an 11m yacht, the boat offers unusually large storage space in cabinets, lockers, drawers, and compartments. Miss-X was exclusively sailed by the owner with family and friends in the Baltic Sea, also very successfully in regattas until 2012. The yacht was initially stored and maintained in the winter at the construction yard in Denmark and since 2005 at the Yachtzentrum Kappeln in a heated hall. There, the owner had an extensive refit carried out from 2012 to 2019. Among other things, the yacht received a new teak deck, an epoxy and Coppercoat coating of the underwater hull, a repaint of the hull and superstructure at Wrede, and a carbon fiber rig. In this context, the entire floor structure and keel suspension were also renewed in 2015. In 2016/17, a backstay hydraulic system and electric winches were added, allowing for sheets and halyards to be trimmed and eased - even remotely. In addition, the usual maintenance and renewal work was carried out by local specialized companies, so there is no maintenance backlog.
