Description

The Aldous Smack 1060 is a charming, historic wooden sailboat built in 1906 in Brightlingsea, England. This classic smack, with a length of 1060 cm and a width of 295 cm and can accommodate up to four people to sleep. The boat has a draft of 130 cm and a headroom of 1500 cm, making it suitable for a variety of cruising environments, including seas, inland waterways, lakes and canals. The interior is equipped with mattresses and has a headroom of 165 cm. The Aldous Smack 1060 is equipped with a manual toilet and has a simple stove-based heating system. The boat is powered by a Volvo Penta MD 17C diesel engine, built in 1984, with about 6,000 running hours and a fuel consumption of 1.5 liters per hour. The engine has an output of 35 hp and starts electrically. The sailing equipment consists of four sails, including a gaff main, jib, storm jib and flying jib, and is equipped with a furling and reefing mechanism for the jib. Equipped with modern navigation instruments such as a Garmin GPS and depth sounder, the boat also offers traditional deck gear and safety features such as a fire extinguisher and electric bilge pump. Historically, the Smack has had a long and interesting life. Originally used for oyster fishing, she was converted to a pleasure yacht after several owners and restorations. The boat has made many adventurous trips, including return trips to England and the Netherlands, and has participated in numerous races and events.
